Nara is said to be the place that marked the origination of civilization and being the former capital hosts the splendid collection of the heavenly historical sites. The city boasts with a number of historical enthusiasts. The city is easily explorable on foot or on bikes and the best highlight of Nara city is its Buddha Statue located in the Todai-ji temples. There are several other temples and museums that showcase the Japanese art and the traditions that have been coming a long way.

Isui-En Garden

This park is one of the most picturesque parks of all times, I found several amazing spots here, under the tall trees or by the stepping stones river, it’s just more than enough to see such beauty all in one place. The park was opened in 1969 and is home to the Neiraku Art Museum. It becomes a very enjoyable outing when both the museum and the park is teamed up. The park also houses two best tea houses, where you can get hand of traditional Japanese tea and drink it too the authentic way. The stepping stones in the park inspired the Japanese show Takeshi’s Castle to introduce a game named the “Stepping stones”. The entry to park is for 10 yen.

Kasuga-Taisha Shrine

This temple was discovered during the late 8th century and hosts in itself four different buildings dedicated to the ancestral gods and divinities. The temple consists of timber walls and the beams covering the temple are covered in bright red color, providing the visitors with a very positive and vibrant atmosphere. I visited in February so you can get hold to be the part of lantern festival which happens in both February and August. It is a sight to behold.

Ninja Museum of Igaryu

If you’re traveling with kids then this is the best place to spend time and run their curiosities through the lane. This museum offers ninja classes to kids and showcases the ninja tricks and tips, which is an absolute fun trip for your children. The timings for the sake are 10 am to 7 pm and the tickets are worth 40 yen for a span of 2 hours.
